Projects

Hope on A Mission

Hope on a Mission is a local outreach initiative that feeds the City of Poughkeepsie homeless population every Saturday evening throughout the year. Fishkill Rotary, with assistance from a grant received from Rotary District 7210, will be providing the food and helping to serve that food on one Saturday in each of Fall 2021, Winter 2021-22 and Spring 2022.

Operation Warm

Operation Warm is the signature project of the Rotary Club of Fishkill. This past fall, the Fishkill Rotary Club provided over 110 high-quality, new winter coats to children attending area elementary schools. The Rotary Club provided the coats through Operation Warm, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to distributing new winter coats to children living in need. The coats were distributed to children at Fishkill Elementary School in the Wappingers School District. Warm coats were also distributed to children in three of the four elementary schools in the Beacon City School District.

This year marked the twelfth straight fall that the Rotary Club of Fishkill has teamed with Operation Warm to provide warm coats for the winter season. Again this year, the club was able to increase the number of coats donated to those families in need.

Fishkill Food Pantry

The Rotary Club of Fishkill has been a long-time supporter of the Fishkill Food Pantry. Through a partnership with Shop-Rite, the Rotary has conducted food drives at the Fishkill store to help stock the shelves at the pantry. If you wish to donate food to the Fishkill Food Pantry, you can drop off your canned goods, etc. at the Blodgett Memorial Library on Broad Street in Fishkill during normal library hours. Let's all work together to feed those less fortunate in our community.

Rebuilding Together Dutchess County

June 2019 marked the initial partnership between Fishkill Rotary and Rebuilding Together Dutchess County. Several Fishkill Rotarians, under the direction of professional contractor and Highland Rotary member Rich Roza, spent Saturday, June 1 at a residence in the City of Beacon painting, replacing doors and windows, repairing masonry and completing a number  of other home repairs. The day proved to be an overwhelming success!
